The London Parchment is a blog dedicated to stationery and its everyday beauty. I scribble, draw, note and jot my way through life using stationery from all over the world. Many of these items cost a couple of pounds but the enjoyment I get from using them is immeasurable. My favourite things? Field Notes notebooks, Pilot Kakunos, HB and F grade woodcased pencils, thin washi tapes, 0.38mm gel pens, Pentel Aquash water brushes, fine-nib fountain pens and Pilot Iroshizuku inks.
My trip to North America in January presented an opportunity to visit New York City, and I couldn’t say no. Amongst other things, I spent a wonderful hour perusing pencils in Caroline Weaver’s lovely new space on Orchard Street.
It’s been a while since I actually reviewed something on The London Parchment! I’m back to basics today reviewing the Viarco 1951 Super Desenho pencil, part of Viarco’s Vintage Collection.
Last year, I spent time working in Oslo, Norway. When I had a few hours to myself, I popped into Lush Dive, a highly recommended stationery store in Grünerløkka, a very walkable and interesting part of the city.
I’ve been working in North America for most of January (Washington DC, New York and Vancouver to be exact) doing a variety of things – attending a conference, meetings and fieldwork. A few weeks away means a fairly substantive travel carry. Here’s what’s in my pencilcase for this chilly trip.
Happy New Year! Around this time last year I published my stationery-related New Year’s Resolutions for 2017. I’ve written a quick review of how I did on these resolutions (not too badly!) and I’m sharing my 2018 Stationery Resolutions.
